Unit 6 Feedback

Hi Heaven! I really enjoyed your website highlighting the use of technology in health. First off, I love how you organized your technology section into games, websites, movies and apps. There are so many other technologies for health besides applications, and you did a great job of highlighting those options. I also enjoyed your videos and images. I found the "worst health foods for your kids" video especially interesting! I always knew that a lot of labeled "healthy" foods actually have added sugar, but it was crazy to hear a doctor highlighting just how bad these foods are for you. I can honestly say that I learned a lot from your website and I really appreciate that! There are only a couple minor changes I might make to your website to help it highlight some key things a bit more. I wish one of your videos might have focused on one of the applications you talked about in your technology section! While both videos were very informative, they didn't specific...

Hi Heaven, thank you for an informative post this week on anxiety in early childhood and the complementary medicine technique of yoga. I liked how your page was organized, all of the sections were clearly labeled and  contained the required elements. Each of the elements were full of useful information.  Like the rest of the class, your page has continued to do a great job of creating a page that follows an easy to follow and logical format building from a sound foundation of the description of the condition and the treatment, then finishing with the pros and cons. I understand the difficulty in finding adequate research to support a topic and I see how that influenced the definition you chose to use in that it described anxiety in adolescents rather than middle childhood. I think that same issue may have also limited the number of citations you were able to source. I recommend making a change to the edition of the DSM that was mentioned, as the DSM5 is the most current versio...

The writers of this section did a good job of incorporating each of the four basic elements into their webpage.   Each section provided detailed information to the reader. The writers of this webpage indeed did use headings and subheadings to layout the page.   The use of subheadings was intentional and made the layout of the page flow well. Like stated before the webpage and content were integrated and flowed well.   The sections moved systematically from one to another in a way that made sense first defining anxiety, to a complementary treatment for it, and then into the advantages and disadvantages for the complementary treatment. Overall the page was well written and reads easily.   There was only one section that I had to reread several times and was confused on the word choice.   The section that read awkwardly was in the complementary treatment section and the first sentence of the second paragraph where it reads, “Yoga techniques...

Hi Kaela and Heaven, I think you did a really nice job providing concise information on ADHD and the overview of pharmaceutical advantages/disadvantages to its use in young girls.    As someone who has a strong prevalence of ADD/ADHD diagnosis in my family tree, myself include, I find this topic truly fascinating.   Particularly, as a female identified as having ADHD not until my late adolescent period, it makes me curious as to whether or not the statistics are missing a vital piece of information, maybe girls learn to adapt and self regulate better than their male counterparts earlier in life?    I’m curious if you found any longitudinal studies on the efficacy/impact on neuro-development or hormonal function when the developing brain is provided with amphetamines or methylphenidates such as Ritalin, Adderall, or Concerta?    This is particularly curious when considering how different the pharmacokinetics is in the female body.    ...

Feedback Unit 3

Hello Heaven!      I think you guys did an awesome job covering the main talking points for this section. I think that it is really interesting that you talked about how young children follow the eating habits of their mothers. I believe this will drive home the point that women and adults truly set an example for our youth. Yes, habits can be changed but if you instill good, healthy eating, fitness, and mental wellness early, there will not be anything to change. Of course, there will be bumps in the road but it will be life choice changes, not just a total transformation.  I really liked the YouTube videos that you used and think they helped to sell your talking points. I do think that you could have added a few more images that would help to break up the layout a little bit. This would just help with the flow and add some more color to the page. Since this generation is so technology-based, I think it would be awesome to also add some fitness application to...
